What is it? A non-toxic co-polymer. It is a by-product of soft contact lenses and similar to the product used in baby diapers. How does it work? Soil Moist absorbs up to 400 times its size in water and stores it in all levels of the soil. The water is then released back into the soil as it dries out. What kind of footing will it work in? Soil Moist will work in any type of footing that requires moisture, i.e.: mulch, shavings, dirt, and sand. |

Why should I use Soil Moist? Anyone who wants to improve the condition of their footing and eliminate dust problems in their arenas needs Soil Moist. Without it, the water goes from the top to the bottom of the footing when you water. The top dries out again and the bottom stays slick. Soil Moist keeps the moisture suspended in all levels of the soil. Will it bother my children or animals? Soil Moist is a non-harmful, non-chemical-non-toxic product. |

How often do i water?
Using the product will reduce water usage by 50% or more. If you are watering in your arena every other day, this will cut your frequency to once every 10 days or more. A good dragging maintenance program helps to keep the surface from drying out too fast. Does it freeze? If the soil freezes, Soil Moist will freeze with it, but can be ridden on with no problems. The footing also takes longer to freeze than normal with the product in it. |

Is Soil Moist slippery? NO, because the Soil Moist is mixed in the footing at all levels and it adheres to each granule. How do I apply it? Apply with a seed type spreader. Spread the product at a rate of 12 pounds (5.4 kg) per 1000 sq. ft (93 sq.meters). Then drag it under the soil and soak heavily. It can be ridden on at any time after the standing water is absorbed. In two days repeat the watering to insure the polymer is fully hydrated. |

Can I mix Arena Moist with calcium chloride? NO! Soil Moist cannot be used with any chemicals such as salt brine, oil or others because the harmful chemicals break down the soil as well as the Soil Moist. |
